Join us to make a lasting impact.A Day in the LifeThe Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for both leading and contributing to investigations and root causing of issues associated with the Hugo™ Robotically Assisted Surgical System. The successful candidate will work with a cross functional team to support sustaining activities, perform impact assessments, evaluate requirements, and document system and subsystem architectures. She or he will own the planning, execution, and documentation of sustaining-supporting systems activities. In this role, he or she will be a critical member of projects related to in a very visible and fast-paced role.You will:·Report to a Senior Systems Engineer Manager within the Systems Center of Excellence of the Surgical Operating Unit, R&D division.·Understand, evaluate, and communicate system performance, desired behavior, and usability in the context of clinical use.·Investigate internally and externally reported issues to determine root cause and propose process or technical resolution.·Lead and contribute to Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) and field Issue Investigation processes.·Evaluate functional and performance impact of proposed design changes related to enhancements, cost-down, and component end-of-life issues and others.·Perform customer, system and subsystem requirement impact assessments, changes, review, and reconciliation.·Track and communicate status of deliverables.·Work with engineers to develop an understanding of the technological underpinnings of system architecture and detailed design.·Employ Model Based Systems Engineering best practices to document and communicate system design changes.·Oversee, and be deeply acquainted with, regulated development processes and standards for risk management, usability, and safety to ensure systems design changes and documentation meet relevant safety and regulatory standards.Must Have: Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree and 2 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Systems Engineering principals and best practices
• Strong communication skills
• Experience developing complex electromechanical medical devices.
• Strong grasp of design controls and good documentation practices.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute to a cross functional team.
• Experience in requirements management, risk management, and system architecture documentation.
• Fluency in English required.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors degree required
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

·Expertise in new product development and released product engineering.

·Knowledge of standards including IEC 60601, ISO 14971, ISO 13485 and 62366

·Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering required

·Strong organization acumen with the ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

·Demonstrated ability to understand complex electro-mechanical design functionality.

·Demonstrated ability to understand mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and software source code.

·Experience with Corrective and Preventative Action processes.

·Proven track record contributing to products of high complexity in a regulated environment.

·Experience working with multiple teams on concurrent, interdependent projects.

·Solid understanding of structured product development (requirements-driven engineering, documentation, rigorous verification, etc.)

·Demonstrated independence and skill in self-managing priorities.

·Hybrid work model combining regular days in-office and remote work from home.

·Based in Boston, MA

·Infrequent travel may be required.
