Position Description:

Engineering Manager- User Experience for Medtronic, Inc. located in Minneapolis, MN. Work as a user experience design manager in the Customer Centered Design group. Collaborate on new product features and user experience enhancements for patients, their caregivers and healthcare professionals. Responsible for leading a team that delivers UI design for mobile apps and responsive web platforms that meet patient, caregiver and business needs, align with UX strategy, and are technically feasible. Lead projects, working with cross-functional team of Product, Engineering, and Business to shape the product vision and collaborate with the team to execute on the vision. Leverage experience in the healthcare sector designing for medical devices or medical solutions. Through portfolio presentation of created mobile interaction designs or web interaction designs or other interaction designs. Responsible for determining user research methodologies and conducting usability testing such as surveys, small group study, and task analysis. Create interaction design frameworks, information architecture, visual design solutions and style guides. Work with Project Managers, Developers, and Designers on a day-to-day basis. Leverage User Interface Design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and related graphics tools. Leverage JavaScript, and HTML. Responsible for mentoring junior designers or design interns *Position is open to telecommuting from anywhere in the United States.

Basic Qualifications:

Masters’ Degree in Computer Engineering, Information System, Human Computer Interaction or related technical field and 5 years of experience as a User Experience Designer or related occupation in User experience Design. Must possess a minimum of two (2) years with each of the following: Leading design projects to include working with cross-functional team of Product, Engineering, and Business; Healthcare sector designing for medical devices or medical solutions; Thorough portfolio of created mobile, web or other interaction designs; User research methodologies and usability testing such as surveys, small group study, and task analysis; Interaction design frameworks, information architecture, visual design solutions and style guides; Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; JavaScript and HTML; Mentoring junior designers or design interns
