Schedule: Saturday-Wednesday, 8:00am-4:30pm (Thursday and Friday off)
Job Summary:
The Telehealth Technology Coordinator (TTC) supports the efficiency, ease of use and reliability of telehealth and other connected care programs that occur in or originate from a MedStar facility. The TTC will bring telehealth devices to a patient's bedside and facilitate such activities as teleconsultation with remote providers (e.g. palliative care, hepatologists, intensivists, ethics), inpatient remote rounding, family video visits with or without the care team, virtual interpreting services, post discharge remote monitoring and all other current/future inpatient telehealth related initiatives.
TTC's will also work with Information Services to track, troubleshoot, manage and maintain telehealth devices, ensuring optimal patient & staff experience. This position works with hospital leadership, including the CNO, VPMA, CNIO & Director of Patient Experience.

Primary Duties:
Patient Experience: Collaborates with health care team members, including physicians, social workers, residents and other clinicians, and senior leadership to identify barriers to efficient, quality service.
Staff Education: Collaborates with nursing to leverage their relationship with the patient. Frequently round on inpatient units and spread awareness - checks in with unit secretaries/nursing staff/unit leaders and educates them on new telehealth initiatives & services.
Patient Education: Explains to the patient the methods of communication used to connect to care team and family members, such as clinical encounters occurring exclusively by video.
Explains that communication HIPPA secure and is not recorded; that telehealth sessions are two-way audio/video, meaning the remote provider will be able to see and hear them and they will see and hear the remote provider.
Explains who the remote provider is, why they are being asked to join and explaining that the remote provide has clinical information available to them through the medical records
Device Management: Manages and updates the Device locator form and troubleshoots Bluestream platform related issues. TTC works with IS, Nursing Informatics & MSH-Mobility to resolve telehealth device/hardware related issues and locate missing tablets by utilizing device management platforms such as Airwatch. Initiating, monitoring, troubleshooting and completing video visit encounters
Follows Infection control protocol PDF One pager for cleaning and handling telehealth devices after/during every encounter. TTC also ensures devices are charged and functional.
Assists with connected care enrollments, enabling specialty consults, telehealth video visit patient education, and patient portal education/enrollment. Logs/documents detailed information for each request received via the TTC data form

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required, Associate’s degree preferred
1-2 years previous inpatient work preferred
Previous experience with an electronic health record system preferred
Familiar with Microsoft Office and technology a must
Effective oral and written communication skills
