Unit Description:
Welcome to Medstar Union Memorial, the Heart and Vascular Institute for MedstarBaltimore. The Observation Unit at Medstar Union Memorial is a 25 bed unit thatprovides care to patients with a variety of illnesses such as chest pain,arrhythmias, renal failure, and congestive heart failure. The unit focuses onan interdisciplinary approach to meet the needs of patients and families.Patients typically spend 24-48 hours on the Observation Unit and the goal is toprovide safe patient care and reduce the time of hospitalization. Gain greatexperience in telemetry, stroke care, and take advantage of the manyeducational opportunities Medstar has to offer its nurses. 1 yearexperience preferred, new to practice considered. ACLS preferred, but notrequired.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
