MedOne Healthcare is Hiring a Patient Care Rep - Intake specialist Near Phoenix, AZ

MED ONE is an Arizona based home medical provider specializing in making life easier for everyone we serve.

**This is an in office position, Monday through Friday with the hours of 8AM to 4:30PM**

Our primary services are focused on providing equipment and supplies to medically complex individuals and their caregivers. We seek a detail oriented Patient care Representative - Intake specialist who will deliver compassionate, thoughtful care and roll up their sleeves to do whatever it takes to support our patients and caregivers while striving to be the best at whatever we do.

The right candidate in this position will be responsible for admitting new patients, verifying insurance information, and completing all applicable admissions paperwork. Completion of the accounts includes, but is not limited to; checking prescription validity, authorization validity, insurance requirements, demographics, clinical notes, patient needs, and proper notation before shipping orders of medical supplies.

**This is an in office position, Monday through Friday with the hours of 8AM to 4:30PM**

Essential Functions:

  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure patient satisfaction
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPPA regulations. Abide by all regulatory and accrediting agency policy and procedure requirements.
  • Enter demographics, insurance information and other pertinent data accurately and efficiently into the system of record. Ensure compliance of all admission paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Verify insurance coverage(s) and explain benefit information to patients and case managers. Review clinical notes and other documentation to ensure proper ordering, delivery, and use of necessary medical supplies and accessories that align with diagnosis and support therapy compliance.
  • Answer inbound calls for a wide range of customers, including patients, caregivers, referral and provider offices. Identify the caller’s needs, clarify information, research concerns or issues, and provide effective solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with other teams or departments to present solutions to any patient concerns.
  • Responsible for amicable interactions with coworkers and customers, including patients and caregivers, referral sources, office staff, vendors, and patrons.
  • Various clerical work, including faxing, scanning, and copying. Ensure the work being performed meets internal and external compliance standards.
  • Meet daily, monthly, and quarterly metrics and goals the leadership team sets.
  • Assist the Compliance Officer in ensuring 100% compliance (no exceptions).
  • Perform other related duties as apparent and/or assigned

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Self-starter, able to display the highest level of integrity and respect for confidentiality.
  • Ability to exercise practical judgment and sensitivity to changing needs and situations.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must possess a strong sense of urgency and the ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Support all communications with a high level of courtesy and professional acumen.
  • Proven ability to work independently at times and within a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact collaboratively with other departments and teams.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and be able to succeed in a fast-paced work environment

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of medical office or customer service-related experience.
  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, or relevant medical fields supporting a diverse patient population.
  • Knowledge of insurance and respiratory care is strongly preferred.

Work Environment, Surroundings and Demands:

  • Work is performed onsite in an office environment.
  • The office environment requires the use of standard office equipment (i.e., computers, printers, copiers, telephones).
  • Sitting in a desk setting for prolonged periods while using standard office equipment.
