Medijobs is Hiring a Dental Biller Near New York, NY

Seeking an experienced Dental Biller with a proven track record of success to join our top rated dental team in Lower Manhattan. Our office is a modern, state-of-the-art office located in the heart of Manhattan's Financial District. This is an in-office position, and we are not looking for remote billers at this time.

Position Duties:

  • Must have extensive billing experience in a PPO based dental practice (multi specialty)
  • Must be proficient in reading EOBs (explanation of benefits), submitting insurance claims, reviewing and appeal insurance claim denials, pre-authorizations, collections management
  • Strong math and analytical skills are required (there will be several tests to determine competency)
  • Insurance verification management
  • Entering details of insurance plans into dental software
  • Sending claims to insurance companies electronically and by mail
  • Entering insurance payments
  • Insurance write-offs for in-network providers
  • Submitting appeals
  • Insurance aging reports
  • Account receivables and balance/collections management

Required Education/Experience:

  • High school degree or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years dental billing experience is a must
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Current knowledge of ADA and policy changes
  • Strong knowledge of ADA codes, dental terminology, reading radiographs
  • Understanding of dental procedures, tooth numbers/letters and familiarity with medical cross coding for dentistry.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $25 - $30/hour (based on experience level)
  • Quarterly bonus incentive

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 40 hours weekly
