Field Service Engineer – Job Description

As a Field Service Engineer, this role is the go-to expert for on-site technical support, tackling challenges and fulfilling requests across a spectrum of areas, including software, hardware, networks, and diverse IT systems. This role is pivotal to ensuring seamless operational functionality and client satisfaction. This role is an in-office position at our corporate headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for Windows 10 operating systems, addressing any user issues, and ensuring seamless desktop functionality.
• Hands-on hardware break-fix specialist resolving technical issues through on-site troubleshooting and repair.
• Maintain and repair IT equipment through troubleshooting, re-imaging, and deploying new desktops and laptops.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex application issues following standard operating procedures and using knowledgebase documentation.
• Ensure support incidents/requests are monitored, logged, tracked, and resolved appropriately within the ITSM software.
• Work daily with remote support tools troubleshooting a wide variety of issues with end-users.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of Service Delivery procedures and documentation.
• Manage and troubleshoot Office 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Actively contribute to project initiatives by engaging in team collaborations to define project scopes, meticulously document plans, and successfully execute tasks to bring projects to fruition.
• Provide occasional after-hours Service Delivery support during evening, night, and weekend shifts as needed.
• Provide support for corporate applications, addressing user queries and issues promptly.
• Update and maintain IT knowledge base. Ensure workflow and processes are documented and communicated.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A minimum of five years providing customer PC and application support.
• Experience providing on-site technical support and troubleshooting in a corporate environment
• Knowledge of computer hardware and common troubleshooting techniques.
• Demonstrated expertise working with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft OS (7 – 10).
• Expert in Microsoft technologies such as M365, Azure Active Directory.
• Experience supporting Microsoft O365 (exposure to Azure a plus).
• Thorough understanding of PC and application security in a Windows networked environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
• Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to operate independently as well as influence across the technology organization.
• ITSM knowledge and experience.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
• Passionate commitment to providing unparalleled customer service.
• Proficiency with ITIL and/or ITSM principles.

Preferences:

• Staffing Industry experience.
• Medical field or terminology background.
• ITIL certification.
• Experience of utilizing knowledge management processes or tools.
• ServiceNow experience.

Expected Hours of Work:

• This is a full-time position. Days and core hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. In-office coverage is expected during core business hours.
