Job Summary

The Product Owner is a practitioner, supporter, promoter, and facilitator of software development using the Scrum process. They combine the needs of stakeholders and customers and use their feedback to steer the product. Their efforts will lead to higher quality software, maximizing company resources, and increasing value. This role operates on a hybrid work model, based in Salt Lake City, Utah headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain product vision and product goals.
  • Collaborate with prospective users, clients, and stakeholders to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements.
  • Develop and clearly communicate Product Backlog Epics, Features, and User Stories.
  • Order, maintain, and prioritize the Product Backlog based on changing requirements. Meet regularly with the stakeholders to capture software requirements.
  • Create a Product Road Map based on the Product vision, goals, and backlog items.
  • Plan and facilitate Scrum ceremonies in conjunction with the Scrum Master.
  • Closely collaborate with Developers and Testers to create strong Acceptance Criteria.
  • Create a strong, trusting relationship with key customers and internal stakeholders to assure the product meets their needs.
  • Adhere to the pillars of scrum: Transparency, Inspection and Adaptation and apply them to cultivate an agile development mindset for the entire development team.
  • Accumulate immense product knowledge to make key decisions on future development endeavors.
  • Set and meet deadlines while monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (or complete within 90 days).
  • 2 years’ experience in a Product Owner role.
  • Ability to gain knowledge and passion for our products.
  • Can articulate a clear vision of where the product could and should go in the future.
  • Public Safety or Medical background preferred but not required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Passionate about Agile and Scrum processes.
  • Experience with cultural change.
  • Active listening skills.
  • Creative and willing to experiment with new approaches.
  • Experience resolving conflicts within teams.
  • Experience facilitating all aspects of development meetings, including organizing, presenting, recording, capturing action items, and following up.
  • Self-starter and able to effectively estimate and manage time.
  • Good interpersonal, rapport-building, and negotiating skills.
  • Positive attitude with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills: able to facilitate projects and meetings as assigned, comfortable working with all levels of the organization.
  • Perform effectively in stressful situations.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to innovate, prioritize, and multitask.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Leadership skills that can help bolster the productivity and quality of the Scrum team.
