Qualifications
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the VP of Strategy and Growth, the Senior Manager, Strategy & Growth is a critical team leader during MHN’s mission expansion into new markets and expanding current markets. MHN is a mission driven value-based care enabler for safety net providers, such as FQHCs, to succeed in value-based care. This role plays a central role in MHN’s strategy, growth, and partnership activities, such as cultivating growth channels, partnerships, and enhancing payor relations and network development functions. The role has strong strategic growth expertise with significant experience pursuing market expansion, strategic partnerships, and growth opportunities.This is not traditional sales business development role - it is a strategic role where thought leadership, strategic thinking, critical thinking skills combined with value-based care risk arrangements comes together. The ideal candidate thrives when sitting at the intersection of commercial opportunities, strategy, financial analysis and value-based care operational domains, supporting FQHCs to shift from FFS to Value-Based Care, and helping external partners view MHN as a leader in value-based care enabler transforming care and building healthier communities in the safety net.
WHAT YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO:
- Support overall growth activities including identifying gaps in the growth channels, partnerships, and/or and diversifying new products
- Cultivate and advance a pipeline of partnership strategy and growth channels
- Support payer strategy and risk arrangements under the shift to Value-based care
- Support in network development activities, both primary care and specialty networks
- Define proposals and offerings for clients through collaboration with various department leaders
- Support in business development efforts, including responding to RFPs, pricing strategies, developing Statements of Work (SOW), proposal development, and client presentations
- Manage strategy for lead generation and develop programs to pursue lead generation in target markets
- Analyze financial structures for new arrangements, collaborating closely with finance to construct the business case and pricing models, and gaining a deep understanding of local market and policy dynamics
- Collaborate with various departments to execute on growth strategies effectively and iterate on a offering /market fit based on market learnings
- Maintain understanding of market factors and industry trends relevant to safety net care transformation
- Partner with market teams to execute on contracts and advise on implementation and delivery approach
- Attend high-value conferences and secure meetings with high-value contacts
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Bachelor’s Degree, MBA / MHA preferred
- 7 years of experience in management level role developing and implementing growth strategies and/ or progressively senior leadership roles
- Significant experience in strategy, financial analysis, business development or consulting roles
- Ability to travel 10-25% out of state and as needed to perform essential duties
- Expertise executing on growth strategies to enhance value-based care
- Track record of successful partnership development and management
- Prior payer / managed care experience, risk-bearing entity such as start-ups, or value-based care organizations preferred
- Experience supporting risk-based contracts strategy and contract reviews
- Strong working understanding of national payer and risk bearing entity and enablers landscape, Medicare, Medicaid, duals, or FQHCregulatory changes, digital health trends and new entrants
- Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and strategies to stakeholders at all levels
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, anticipate market trends, and develop innovative growth strategies
- Experience in rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Passionate about driving the shift from Fee-For-Services to Value-Based Care
- Experience in safety net communities (e.g., FQHCs, safety net health systems) preferred and commitment to addressing health disparities
