Job Summary and Qualifications

The Bariatric Coordinator is responsible for administering all aspects of the bariatric program. Work with customers include: inpatients, outpatients, physicians, allied health professionals and the community through program development, planning, organizing, implementation, assessment, and patient education for the Bariatric Service Line. The Bariatric Service Line Coordinator ensures compliance with the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) Bariatric Center of Excellence (COE) hospital requirements and subsequent COE designation, American College of Surgeons (ACS), American Society of Bariatric Surgery (ASBS), Centers of Medicare and Medicaid LCD requirements and conditions of participation, TJC standards and all other regulatory requirements and standards that may be required by local, state, and federal agencies.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Registered/Licensed Dietician OR Registered Nurse
  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing OR business administration/business marketing program BSN and/or Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or Business Marketing. RN candidates must be licensed in the State of Texas.
  • Commission Dietetic Registration, OR ADA Registered Dietitian
  • Minimum of 3 years nursing experience caring for medical/surgical patients (preferably bariatric patients) OR 2-3 years of experience in program management/marketing within healthcare setting (acute care or surgical center experience preferred).
