Position Summary:
Gives practical nursing care to patients and provides guidance to LVNs, Nursing Assistants and Medical Assistants. Works in compliance and in accordance with clinical and nursing standards. In addition to the skills required of all RNs, special skills related to nursing in the clinic environment are required.
Education:
Hold a current Texas permit or license as a Registered Nurse (RN).. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Training and Experience:
1. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association upon hire or transfer to department.
2. One to two years’ experience in a clinical setting preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) abilities desirable but not mandatory.
Job Knowledge:
Position requires knowledge of clinical and nursing standards and is an individual who practices in accordance with these standards. Understanding of physiology of science and technical activities for responding to medical problems and concepts. Must exercise good nursing judgment and be able to relate to patients of all ages and with all types of disabilities. Will be required to show current knowledge of clinical competency with the special skills required to give good quality patient care to clinic patients of all ages
