The Surgical Technician functions under the supervision of the OR Supervisor, RN’s and the Medical Staff of the surgery Department. He or She must have knowledge of surgical instruments; supplies; and equipment necessary during a surgical procedure. Must have knowledge of anatomy, sterile technique, and central sterile processing. He/ She demonstrate cooperation and flexibility. He or She Demonstrates the necessary knowledge to ensure quality patient care that is age appropriate. Stays constantly on vigil to maintain the sterile field and anticipate the needs of the surgeon during a procedure.
