MediaSource , an award-winning communications agency, is seeking a Director of Creative to lead our team of content creators and brand journalists and be part of producing content with purpose for healthcare and other impact brands. Work hybrid from Columbus, Ohio between our 2,500 square foot multimedia studio, on location at shoots and from the comfort of your own home. ROLE:
The Director of Creative role is leadership and ownership of the department, developing and overseeing a high performance team. This individual is a strategic thinker with a big picture mindset who executes the vision of the department. The Director of Creative has the ability to manage a wide range of creative people and projects from multimedia to written content to strategic story development and understands how to align creativity with project and client goals. They have an understanding of how to develop and oversee projects or teams while taking complete responsibility for client/project success.
The main areas of responsibility include strategy, quality control, budgeting, and management of the team, work, resources, and client accounts. They will also contribute to content creation and new creative business efforts.
Responsibilities :
  • Keeping strategy and goals in mind, sets and establishes priorities and work assignments for the creative team, monitors progress, reviews work products and ensures products are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Implements and improves efficiency for the department.
  • Manages, motivates and mentors team members. Views success of others as a factor in overall success of projects.
  • Leads others while producing high quality content that is aligned to the agency and clients' goals.
  • Sets and monitors quality standards for the department.
  • Leader on industry trends and has a strong ability to navigate and manage those working in a variety of production roles including videographer, editor, producer and writer.
  • Understands and can create budget models, project scope and assign resource allocation for projects.
  • Understands how to provide both positive and negative feedback to team members and addresses performance issues.
  • Provides strategic client consultation, meeting leadership and guidance to others both internally at MediaSource and externally to clients.
  • Team leader for Creative in working with the company's Public Relations and Strategy & Analytics teams to align creative with client goals and expand ideas based on trends and opportunities.
  • Collaborates with other senior leaders to reinforce and carry out the company culture and vision.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in multimedia content creation at a production company, agency environment, newsroom or brand that is project-driven.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams and at least three years of team leadership experience.
  • Strategic thinker with an eye for detail and a passion for innovation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in communications, video or film production, broadcast journalism, public relations or equivalent work experience.
  • Multimedia production experience in one or more areas such as writing, producing, directing, videography and/or video editing. (For those with editing experience, Premiere and Photoshop are required. Adobe After Effects preferred).
  • Experience with Apple computers and software is preferred.

Location: MediaSource is located in Columbus, Ohio. This is a hybrid role based in the Central Ohio area that includes both remote working and workplace-based in person collaboration which takes place at a minimum of once per week.
