The Referral Coordinator supports MedFlorida Medical Centers by coordinating specialty care for patients in need of external consultation/testing as requested by the Primary Care Physician. The role of each Referral Coordinator is to work efficiently and effectively with insurance companies and care providers to share essential patient information.
A. Essential Duties
Education:
· High School Diploma or equivalent required.
· Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited college or university, with major in business, health care or related field preferred. A comparable amount of experience would be acceptable.
Experience:
· Experience in medical field is highly desirable.
· Knowledge of government CMS regulatory requirements is preferred.
· Computer literate: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required.
· eClinicalWorks electronic medical records system knowledge a plus.
