MedEx Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our extremely friendly and supportive environment at our Seal Beach urgent care facility. The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist position will assist in the direct care of the patient by supporting front and back office functions in an urgent care setting. Individuals in this role will be responsible for rooming patients, assisting with procedures, administering vaccines, and medications as ordered, and providing phlebotomy services.

*Varied Shifts to include, but not limited to: Evenings and Weekends.*

Responsibilities

• Prepares examination rooms for patients
• Rooms patients, measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, height, weight) and records information in patients' charts.
• Conducts blood draws, administers injections or treatments, collects lab cultures, as certified
• Performs clinical procedures within the scope of practice
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG) and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests
• Assists the physician/NP/PA during minor procedures
• Coordinates patient care as directed by physician/NP/PA
• Maintains clean examination rooms after each patient
• Inventories medical supplies and materials
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Answers calls and assists in front office tasks

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire
• California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I License
• 1 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
• Ability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays

Job Types: Part-time, Per diem

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 36 per week
