Salary Range: $35.00 - $65.00 Hourly

Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Secure and prepare all supplies required for surgical intervention
  • Ensure the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field in OR
  • Perform surgical counts according to center policies and procedures
  • Prepare patient skin for surgical treatment
  • Help monitor patients during surgery
  • Provide supportive care during the pre-operative phase
  • Perform surgical functions to assist surgeon during surgical procedure
  • Collect and label specimens taken during surgical procedure
  • Follow all federal, state and departmental safety procedures
  • Maintain a proper sterile field during surgical procedures
  • Provide technical assistance to surgeons, surgical nurses, or anesthesiologists
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning patients on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure
  • Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgeons' assistants, hold retractors and cut sutures, and perform other tasks as directed by surgeon during operation
  • Prepare, care for, and dispose of tissue specimens
  • Wash and sterilize equipment, using proper products and sterilizing techniques per manufacturers guidelines
  • Monitor and continually assess operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs
  • Operate, assemble, adjust, or monitor sterilizers, lights, suction machines, or diagnostic equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Disinfect all the equipment and tools used after the surgery
  • Assist with Cleaning and turnover of the operating room after the procedure

  • Steadiness: Able to keep your hand and arm steady when needed.

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience preferred
  • BLS certification
  • Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique
