Surgery Scheduler

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling of surgical cases.
  • Work with physician offices to obtain information needed in order to schedule.
  • Keep strong rapport with physician office schedulers and proactively check in with them to assure seamless communication.
  • Work with MedBridge to assure they have the information they need in order to quote patient portions and bill appropriately.
  • Work with Surgery Center staff to assure cases brought to the center are appropriate for the center and within block and facility schedule.
  • Create block time schedule for HST and assure physician offices are utilizing their block minutes. Report all shortcomings or challenges with block time to Director of Clinical Services.
  • Maintains appointment schedule for patients. Coordinates patient schedule with surgery schedule.
  • Contacts patients with arrival times, notifies them of what to fill out or bring on DOS, and answers any questions they may have. If clinical questions arise, contact someone at the surgery center.
  • Ensures that patient information is accurate prior to the surgery date and entered fully into HST system.
  • Responsible for keeping current registrations of patients, insurance companies and referring doctors.
  • Assure the confidentiality of all records by the required permission of the patient for releasing the chart information.
  • Acts as a liaison between the surgical team, vendors, management and billing company, and physician offices.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • General office experience preferred
  • Has full command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • HST and EPIC experience preferred
  • Strong command of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
