Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Health Information Management Clerk. As a Health Information Management Clerk, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and managing medical records and information within our healthcare facility. This is an important position that requires knowledge of medical terminology and experience working in a medical office setting.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain patient medical records in accordance with established procedures
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of all patient information
- Retrieve and release medical records to authorized individuals and organizations
- Process requests for medical records in a timely manner
- Review medical records for accuracy and completeness
- Enter data into electronic health record systems
- Assist with coding and billing processes as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure accurate documentation
- Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
Experience:
- Previous experience working with medical records or in a medical office setting is preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology, coding systems, and electronic health record systems is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
