Job Description:
Our healthcare facility in Pennsylvania is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Unit Supervisor to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the effective management and coordination of nursing services.
Responsibilities:
1. **Leadership and Supervision**:
- Assist the Unit Supervisor in overseeing the daily operations of the nursing unit.
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
- Serve as a resource for staff, offering mentorship and assistance in problem-solving.
2. **Patient Care Coordination**:
- Collaborate with the Unit Supervisor and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care activities.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of nursing care, prioritizing patient needs and addressing any issues or concerns.
3. **Staff Development and Training**:
- Participate in the orientation and training of new nursing staff.
- Identify learning needs among team members and assist in the development of educational programs and resources.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the unit.
4. **Quality Improvement**:
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating the quality of patient care delivery on the unit.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in implementing best practices to enhance patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Unit Supervisor and Quality Improvement team to address areas for improvement.
5. **Communication and Collaboration**:
- Facilitate effective communication among nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
- Act as a liaison between the nursing unit and other departments within the facility.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes teamwork and positive morale.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a clinical setting.
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health records systems and Microsoft Office applications.
