• Examine and inspect all Agency vehicles for mechanical problems, and perform repairs in a professional, proficient, and timely manner.
• Ability to utilize Agency diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical concerns.
• Ability to handle vehicle concerns reported by Agency staff.
• Report all problems encountered while inspecting Medic vehicles to chain of command.
• Ability to read and write work orders, placing information accurately into official agency documentation.
• Perform preventative maintenance services per Agency policy and protocol which may include testing specific parts or systems for proper functioning.
• Diagnose and repair any minor problems with vehicle HVAC, brakes, steering, suspension electrical systems, fuel systems, drivability, transmissions, drivetrain, lights, sirens, and radio concerns.
• Ability to drive Agency vehicles in a responsible and safe manner.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Participates in department and agency-wide activities to include meetings, trainings, and workgroups as directed.

Performs other duties as directed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• S. or G.E.D
• 2-3 years of experience

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Overtime may be considered an essential function of this role.
• Must have ability to work in a noisy area with many odors present, maintain ability to regularly lift, pull or push up to 100 pounds, and maintain ability to bend, stretch, kneel, squat or walk repetitively to perform repairs and inspections.
• This position is considered essential personnel.

CERTICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:

• Must have active, current NC/SC driver’s license
• ASE Certification preferred

**Shift is typically Monday-Friday, 8 hour days but may require an occasional weekend shift.
