Mechanical Solutions Inc is looking to hire a payroll specialist for an opening on our accounting team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for ensuring prompt and accurate processing of payroll and related items on a weekly basis for each of our companies. This position will also be responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of taxes and union reports. We are looking to hire a detail-orientated person of high integrity as this position will handle sensitive material and will require a high degree of confidentiality.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Entering weekly payroll for all companies (around 300 employees- union and non-union)
• Paying weekly payments (taxes, garnishments, child support, benefits)
• Entering Certified Payroll
• Respond to all payroll inquiries
• Prepare monthly union reports for all companies
• Prepare monthly tax reports for all companies
• Prepare quarterly tax reports for all companies
• Prepare annual tax reports and w-2s for all companies
• Basic filing and data entry as required
• Create/Distribute various reports for management
• 401(k) administration
• Various HR tasks as required
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two (2) years of experience in payroll
• Accounting degree preferred
• Background in construction
• Certified Payroll Entry experience
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Work with Computerease accounting software is a plus!
