Job Summary:Responsible for maintaining horses in optimal health and condition, working in partnership with Trainers, Barn Manager, and other staff. Reports to Barn Manager.· Responsible for daily horse care, including feed, hay, watering, and other chores.· Implements all aspects of horse care and welfare, including feed, nutrition, vaccination, worming, dental and other health maintenance programs; administers supplements, medications and injections (IM/IV); and identifies and responds to illnesses and injuries, under supervision of Barn Manager.· Assists veterinarian, dentist, and farrier, including overseeing routine vet, farrier and dentist appointments. · Drives trailer to vet appointments and to deliver and pick up horses from other locations.· Lunging and hand-walks horses.· Assist with grooming, mane pulling and body clipping as needed.· Inventories and orders feed, supplies, and medications.· Supports Facilities Manager in supervising Barn Staff. · Responsible for night-check three times per week. · Other responsibilities may be necessary from time to time.**Please send your resume via email to resume@meadowbrookstables.org
Compensation Package: Salary and Benefits:This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of $17.00 to $20.00. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance; PTO at 10 days per year for the first two years, and 15 days per year thereafter; participation in Meadowbrook’s 403(b) retirement plan; and participation in professional development opportunities.
