Meadow Creek Apartments is Hiring a Maintenance Technician Near Bridgeport, WV

We are looking for a thorough Cleaner and an assistant to Maintenance Technician who is certified in HVAC to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of our apartment homes. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and plumbing issues, HVAC repairs/installations, appliance repair and installation, etc. An ideal Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition using appropriate time management.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards on a daily basis
  • Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.) by prioritizing requests as given from office staff/maintenance director
  • Assist in the setup of any appliances and other systems as well as conduct repairs, when necessary, by prioritizing requests as given from office staff/maintenance director
  • Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality by prioritizing requests as given from office staff/maintenance director
  • Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.) by prioritizing requests as given from office staff/maintenance director
  • Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide in special circumstances
  • Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.) by prioritizing requests as given from office staff/maintenance director

Skills

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician in the apartment industry
  • Thorough understanding of electrical, hvac, plumbing and other systems
  • Excellent knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Thorough working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices (must have own tools)
  • Manual dexterity and high problem-solving skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop/squat/kneel for periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and use safety equipment (safety belt, dollies, lifts)
  • Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize service requests in conjunction with preparations of apartments for move in
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in HVAC/EPA
