ABOUT THE ROLE . . .

The role r is a key leader in the finance group responsible for the Plant’s month-end close, Plant performance and cost analysis, Plant budgeting, reporting, forecasting, cost accounting and process improvements. The role will be hands on and assist with design, development, and coordination of analysis and tracking of process improvements, Capital projects and other business analysis that meets the needs of the Plant team. The incumbent will provide financial direction to the plant and provide recommendations to improve site performance. The position holds the responsibility to effectively communicate plant(s) manufacturing results and ensure compliance with company polices and GAAP. The position will work closely with Plant and Sales personnel. Strengths in accuracy, problem solving, and flexibility are critical. 

  1. Develop, implement, and manage analytical models to budget, analyze, report and provide guidance on factory/plant conversion costs.
  2. Participate in month-end closing process and analysis for the plants, working closely with Corporate FP&A.
  3. Analyze Plant variances and communicate explanations to FP&A with recommended actions.
  4. Provide the foundry operations management with financial leadership and support, serving as liaison between Manufacturing and Finance.
  5. Work closely with foundry operations to ensure accurate and timely capture of all production costs and effective analysis of production variances.
  6. Develop, monitor, and analyze the foundry variable, overhead and fixed costs.
  7. Develop the plant budget for product costs and cost centers. 
  8. Review Plant Capital Expenditure requests and provide financial analysis for support of those projects.
  9. Estimate Plant product costs/rates to support quoting activities.
  10. Monitor cost controls to maintain accuracy of standard costs by reviewing transactions and production orders accuracy.
  11. Work closely with the materials manager to improve transaction accuracy related to movement of materials in the plants.
  12. Team with Maintenance leadership to track and report work order costs.
  13. Must work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant and corporate objectives.
  14. Share best practices across the finance team, e.g., process improvements, financial modeling, and procedure changes.
  15. Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks.
  16. Ensure proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  17. Other ad-hoc activities as required by the Finance department.
