Overview

MDVIP, based in Boca Raton, FL is seeking a Staff Accountant who will ready and maintain financial and business transactions, apply accounting principles, that include work that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature and that requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practice. This role reports the Accounting Manager and supports the Finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and maintains bank reconciliations, records bank transactions, reconciles outstanding check lists and clearing accounts.
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
  • Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Supports month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes including prepaids, POs, accruals, budget to actual variances, analyzes GL activity.
  • Oversees all aspects of recoding and reconciling fixed assets and depreciation.
  • Reviews and approves purchase orders and codes to proper GL.
  • Advises department leaders of assigned departments on managing their annual budgets.
  • Oversees state tax compliance and tax filings, maintains the tax log.
  • Establishes, documents, and implements internal control procedures. Recommends modifications to existing corporate programs and processes.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Knowledge

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in accounting/finance and two years related accounting experience required. Related experience assumes a similar corporate role focused on general accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliation experience and other related activities. 

  • Demonstrates excellent attention to details and organizational skills to produce accurate and timely output.
  • Ability to work independently, establish priorities and manage objectives with little supervision.
  • Strong time management and analytical skills
  • Communicates effectively both internally with Finance members and externally with other departments.

Corporate office role: As a corporate based role in Boca Raton, FL, employees are expected to work from the corporate office. A hybrid model is possible; with two days of remote, and three days in office after a ninety-day period.
