DoD Audit/FIAR Program Manager

About the Role:

The candidate will work as the FIAR (Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation) Program Manager and will assist DLA (Defense Logistics Agency) by providing subject matter expertise, in the areas of risk analysis, business process improvement, enterprise risk management (ERM), analysis of audit findings, creation of corrective action plans, and other audit sustainment initiatives.  

Ideal Candidate: the candidate will have:

  • PMP required, CPA desired
  • Demonstrated experience planning, designing, implementing, and supporting large DoD financial programs to include federal financial audit experience
  • Experience leading teams responsible for audit readiness, remediation, and sustainment strategy processes within DoD.
  • Demonstrated experience developing program plans and facilitating resolution of all issues to reach program goals.
  • Experience managing and communicating ongoing changes in tasks, goals, or performance.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as primary liaison with project/program sponsors, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Primary liaison with contracting officers, contract specialists, and contracting officer’s representatives (COR).
  • Familiarity with DoD and DLA financial management policies and procedures.
  • Desired Certifications: CPA, CIA, CISA, CDFM, or CGFM certification
  • Willingness to perform additional ad hoc duties within area of practice to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization's Values.

  • Research best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data and use continuous process improvement disciplines to achieve results
  • Experience leading, motivating, and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding the team accountable for performance
  • Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management
  • Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from executives, sponsors, team members, stakeholders, and peer
  • Willingness to perform additional ad hoc duties within area of practice to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization's Values.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business management-related field.

Experience:Minimum of four years of experience in business consulting, process improvement strategy, financial management, or a related field.

Security: Secret Clearance 

Location: Hybrid: DC Metro area. Must be able to attend meetings at DLA HQ, Fort Belvoir, VA
