Job Description:

The Facility Services Team is responsible for maintenance, repairs, and small remodeling projects that have been contracted through our Facility Services department. The Carpenter is responsible for self-performing work as well as leading subcontractors to complete projects as contracted. The Facility Services Carpenter will primarily work in the Topeka and NE Kansas, but short periods of travel may be required for specific project awards.

Key Areas of Role:

1. Self-performs carpentry work.
2. Communicates key project information to the Facility Services Team, subcontractors, clients, and owners.
3. Ensures quality compliance through the accurate interpretation of building plans, specifications, and maintenance instructions.
4. Produce quality work, safely and timely.

Required Skills:

1. Knowledge to read and interpret plans, specs, safety regulations, maintenance instructions, etc.
2. 2 years’ carpentry experience including but not limited to drywall finishing and millwork installation.
3. Must be self-sufficient and an effective communicator.
4. Procore experience is preferred.
5.  OSHA 30 or 10.
6. Valid Driver's License.
7. Ability to stand for extended periods of time, wear PPE, carry objects of varying weight, use of ladders/scaffolds/tools, and work in varying weather conditions, all commensurate with standards and norms of performing work in the course of commercial construction. This list is not exhaustive.
