1. Responsible for the welfare, safety and health of the children in all activities.

2. Understand the developmental growth and needs of the children in your care.

3. Plan and post an weekly theme unit, daily lesson plans and classroom environment following curriculum guide and developmental chart meeting the needs of each child.

4. Read, understand, and follow all TDHS licensing standards and NAEYC accreditation criteria as it pertains to the classroom and children in your care.

5. Establish and maintain professional and positive communication with parent(s)/ guardian(s) regarding the children’s development and daily activities.

6. Schedule a conference biannually with each child’s [aren’t/guardian to discuss the child’s development assessments, goals and curriculum, Respect the sensitive nature of working with children and their families and maintain confidentiality.

7. Responsible for the daily cleanliness and sanitary condition of the room.

8. Submit lesson plans, reports, assessments, children’s goals, attendance, food counts, records and shopping lists timely and accurately.

9. Assist with special events and projects for the overall welfare of the children at MCC.

10. Assist with equipment inventory and maintenance.

11. Attend and participate in all Center meetings and events.

12. Complete 24 hours of professional development training per year.

13. Supervise assistant teacher, substitutes and volunteers in the classroom and report any concerns to the Program Manager.

14. Responsible for children’s assessments, goal development and implementing children’s goal into lesson plans and the environment.

15. Responsible for mealtime activities with the small group of children assigned. You must sit and eat with the children.

16. Contribute to the overall goodwill of the Center as it relates to volunteers, accrediting and funding donors, board, employee and family relations, etc. in order to effectively present a positive community image.

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
