Description of the Position :

This position’s primary responsibility consists of maintaining, and assisting in the maintenance of, landscapes at (but not limited to) : Cornelius Pass Roadhouse, Grand Lodge, Hotel Oregon, Rock Creek Tavern, St.

John’s Pub, Cedar Hills Pub, and other Portland Metro Westside properties as directed by Management. The tasks needed to achieve this will include weeding, watering, planting, mulching, pruning, shearing, fertilizing, clearing debris, and any / all phases of plant care.

Some degree of plant propagation, selection, and installation may also occur. The goal is to ensure the gardens and landscapes are tidy, safe, healthy, and interesting, as well as presentable year-round.

Travel between multiple locations will be required several times a week. Some landscape construction and equipment operation will occur.

All McMenamins employees are expected to conduct their job in a safe, courteous, and responsible manner and report any safety concerns to their manager.

All McMenamins employees will also be expected to keep current on all company events, history and products. Other duties may be periodically assigned by Management. Requirements of the Job :

• Proficiency in plant identification and care is required
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required
• Ability to operate hand held power equipment and occasionally other heavy equipment (e.g. a compact tractor)
• Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds and perform other prolonged repetitive motion is required
• Ability to safely work on ladders and in all outdoor conditions is required
• A clean driving record and valid Oregon Driver’s license is required
• Flexible schedule including occasional, weekends, and special events is required
• Basic computer skills, especially Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and similar software is required Essential Job Function :
• Use all available techniques to safely, effectively, thoughtfully, and efficiently maintain orchards, fruiting shrubs, ornamental plantings, container plantings, vegetable beds, and flower gardens, and any other component of McMenamins’ landscapes
• Must have a value for diversity and the ability to work with individuals from different backgrounds
• Travel between multiple locations using a full-sized assigned pickup operated in a safe and legal manner
• Endure repetitive physical tasks such as stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, pulling, pushing, & lifting
• Use and help maintain various tools and equipment with safety and efficiency as the guiding principles
• Execute minor landscape and hardscape construction projects
• Execute minor irrigation maintenance, repairs, and improvements
• Both independently and as a member of a team, fulfill assigned tasks and deadlines with competent time management, self-motivation, and good judgement
• Listen, communicate, and collaborate professionally and efficiently with others
• Present a warm and accommodating personality to co-workers, managers, vendors, customers, and guests
• Represent the Gardens, the Properties, and Company as a place of retreat, relaxation, enjoyment, and fun!
