McKendree University is Hiring a Library Assistant Near Lebanon, IL

McKendree University seeks applications for an evening library assistant whose job responsibilities will include assisting with technical and public services plus data entry for grants. This is a 10-month hourly position, August through May of each year. The hours are Sunday through Thursday, 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m..

· Managing the library during the evening shift, with the assistance of student workers.

· Assisting library users, answering basic questions, and instructing them on the use of copiers, printers, and other library technology.

· Provide patient and friendly customer service to library users.

· Ongoing technical services projects including material processing, cataloging, and statistics.

· Assisting with library material orders which includes using Microsoft Access.

· Serving as support for library faculty.

· Maintaining office supplies and files.

· Assisting with grant related projects as needed

· Other duties as assigned.

High school diploma and basic proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to adapt and learn new skills on the job along with having organization and time management skills.

College-level coursework or Library Technician degree; prior experience working in an academic library. Experience in customer service.

This position is eligible for benefits including tuition benefits.
