Lincoln Land Community College is Hiring a Library Specialist Near Springfield, IL

Position Description

Lincoln Land Community College is currently accepting applications for a Library Specialist to provide evening supervision of the Library and reference services to students.
Responsibilities include the following:

Assist students and patrons with reference questions and research needs, in-person and remotely.
Assist and supervise student employees.
Perform library circulation desk duties as needed.
Secure library facilities at closing times in accordance with established schedule and procedures.
Respond to complaints of patrons, documenting concerns and follow up activities including contacting supervisor and/or security personnel.
Provide support for students using computers and other technologies.

Work hours are Monday – Thursday, 4:30 pm or 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Pay will be $20.81 per hour.

Position Requirements

Requirements include the following:

Bachelor’s degree plus professional library experience and/or library science classes required.
Master of Library and Information Science / Master of Information Science / Master of Library Science student or degree preferred.
Computer competency.
Dependability is crucial for this position.
