What do I need as an Accounts Receivable Associate - Payer Specialist with McGregor?

  • High School diploma or GED. Associate's degree or equivalent from two year college/technical school preferred.
  • Two to three (2-3) years of Medicare or Medicaid billing preferred, Medicaid eligibility/application experience preferred, billing experience in long term care preferred.
  • Certified Medical Billing preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic computer, Excel and accounting software.

What will I do as an Accounts Receivable Associate - Payer Specialist with McGregor?

  • Maintain accurate up-to-date daily census and charges for all McGregor companies reconciling with proper reporting sources.
  • Primary facility contact for all ancillary partners to maintain accuracy of monthly ancillary billing (oxygen, radiology, pharmacy, lab, etc.)
  • Identify the need for Level of Care and ensure proper Level of Care documents are issued in coordination with social service and MyCare companies, track LOC obtained.
  • Daily process and document Bed-Hold Notices and ensure compliance withing ODH regulations.
  • Timely identification of any payer changes/eligibility within the Medicaid system (MITS) including MyCare changes and share of cost changes and address any issues that arise from such changes.
  • Review all NH (nursing home) claims monthly and coordinate Triple Check with appropriate departments ensuring all claims are correct before sending to outside billing company for processing.
  • Complete monthly close in all accounts receivable systems for all McGregor companies by determined deadlines.
  • Coordinate the Medicaid pending/new application process from beginning to end. Work closely with families/residents to ensure all data is collected and sent to Medicaid timely. Work closely with Cuyahoga County to ensure applications are being reviewed and approved timely, renewals and all Medicaid issues processed timely.
  • Process all Medicaid Authorized Representative documents for all LTC McGregor residents.
  • Process 9401s and levels for LTC Medicaid residents.
  • Maintain accurate PACE census, charges and AR aging and distribute to appropriate parties for collection.
  • Prepare, review, and send out PACE monthly statements.
  • Post all Medicaid and Medicare payments to PACE AR and address any outstanding balances related to Medicaid and Medicare payers.
