JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking Carpenters to join our construction team.
This person will be responsible, honest and ethical as professionalism is the utmost importance to our organization. You must have the ability to effectively communicate and interact with clients because this position works inside the owner’s operating facilities. Reliability and timeliness is a must to be a core team member.
The position will be reporting to Project Superintendent and will need to take direction from that Team Leader.
This is a full-time position with the expectation of work hours to normally be 40 hours per week during the regular business day, although the workday can be longer depending on the requirements of the project and client needs. Overtime will be paid based on collective bargaining agreement.
This position is Safety Sensitive and Mandatory Substance Abuse testing per the St. Louis Construction Industry Substance Abuse Consortium is required.
This position will be required to join the St. Louis Carpenter’s Union if not currently a member. McGrath will provide sponsorship letter if required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to read, interpret and understand drawings.
General Carpentry:
Ability to assemble temporary handrails and other general condition safety requirements.
Ability to operate saws, screw guns, drills, grinders and other electric hand tools.
Recognize and communicate any safety hazards on job site.
Must adhere to all OSHA, McGrath and Customer safety policies.
Ability to perform pre-task job hazard analysis.
Ability to perform pre-task equipment inspections.
Analyzes and develops approaches to the creation and modification of architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc. Ensuring the incorporation of design intent with preliminary direction from the Owner & McGrath & Associates team.
Develops, modifies, and / or reviews drawings according to established standards with direction from the McGrath & Associates team.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERTISE
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit that takes sincere pride in your work.
Maintain strong work and personal ethics.
Excellent verbal communications.
Ability to carry 50 lbs or more.
Ability to pass pre-job fit for duty test.
Climb ladders, scaffolding and navigate construction sites.
Activities include walk, kneel, crouch, crawl and dig.
Must work safety and follow safety requirements at all times.
Ability to work indoors, outdoors and in all elements.
Position has possibility to travel to support regional projects.
Ability to operate scissors or boom lift.
Ability to operate forklifts.
High School diploma.
OSHA 10 HR Card.
