McFarland Clinic, P.C. is Hiring an Ophthalmic Assistant (FT) | Ophthalmology | Ames | 2024-106 Near Ames, IA

McFarland Clinic has an opening for an energetic an Ophthalmic Assistant for its Ames Eye Care Center. The candidate is expected to be a team player, willing to learn basic ophthalmic techniques as well as the working of advanced ophthalmic equipment.

Responsibilities include: Prepares patients for exams or treatments. Takes visual acuity and preforms basic screening tests. Educates patient and performs ancillary tests.

Education

  • High School Diploma, GED or HiSET
  • Graduate from an accredited program for Ophthalmic Assistants preferred.

Certification/License

  • Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers

Days: Monday - Friday.

Hours: 8 AM - 5 PM.

Experience

  • Ophthalmic experience preferred but not required/ on the job training available.
  • Excellent customer service skills and willing to be able to multi-task.
  • Keyboard and computer experience.
  • One year of work experience in medical office setting preferred.
