Job Description:

The Department of World Languages, Literatures & Cultures at McDaniel College invites applications for a part-time lecturer beginning August 2024. This position involves teaching two Elementary Spanish courses per semester. These Spanish courses are scheduled for in-person delivery only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the morning or early afternoon.

The part-time lecturer in Spanish is expected to participate in limited service activities and assessment in support of our lower-level Spanish program as assigned at the departmental level. Candidates should be prepared to support the College's diversity, equity, and inclusion mission to "continue our tradition of social justice by committing ourselves to being a diverse and inclusive community."

Part-time Lecturers are non-tenured faculty who are eligible for the College's full-time employee benefits. This is a one-year, renewable position.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

A degree at the Master's level or higher or equivalent.

Native or near-native fluency in Spanish.

Strong teaching skills and competence or training in second language pedagogy, and technology-enhanced language learning, preferably at the college level.

Willingness to work collaboratively with the level coordinator and colleagues.
