RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general direction of the Engineering Manager, the Project Engineer will be responsible for simultaneously managing multiple capital projects of significant value from evaluation through implementation stages. Project workload can vary with regulatory and environmental priorities. This position may, if required, act as the liason with governmental and regulatory agencies while leading projects to assure facility compliance.

The project engineer is responsible for all aspects of approved project execution, including detail technical design, issuing technical specifications and for following standard project management techniques, managing vendors, contract engineers, and contractors for constructions, remodeling and equipment fabrication and installation. The Project Engineer is responsible for system FAT, commissioning and ramp up as well as transition to operations/maintenance (IQ, OQ, PQ) including documentation, training, spare parts and conducting post project review to measure results and document learnings.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of project engineering experience in the manufacturing industry (Will consider a candidate with less experience if exceptional in other ways (i.e. relevant internships and academic achievements)
  • Ability to read and interpret PFD and P&ID diagrams
  • Demonstrated leadership, planning, organizing and communication skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects from the evaluation through implementation stages
  • Experience developing justification, scoping and managing capital projects to budgets and schedule
  • Experience leading small and large project teams
  • Ability to follow up and prioritize project issues independently and juggle multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems.
  • Proficient in Excel, Power Point, MS Project, Word, AutoCAD
  • Must have solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work weekends, varying shifts, holidays as project execution schedules may require.
  • Travel will be approximately 10%, but may be higher during specific project phases (i.e. FAT)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation controls. Wonderware/Active Factory experience a plus.
  • Experience with Troubleshooting PLC controlled Mechanical Components.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical & panel/loop drawings.
  • Project engineering experience in the food processing, pharmaceutical, and/or chemical processing industries.
  • Knowledge of cGMP systems with a strong understanding of sanitary design concepts
  • Experience with liquid processing, facilities, and packaging equipment
  • Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system
  • Experience with TPM especially in EEM
