Position Overview: Are you excited about leading the charge in packaging innovation? As the Packaging Development Lead for the Convenient Meals category you will have a significant impact on shaping the innovation pipeline, all while pioneering sustainable and consumer-preferred packaging solutions in North America.
Your responsibilities will encompass working with a diverse range of packaging formats and materials, leveraging your expertise to enhance some of our most beloved brands such as McCormick, Zatarain’s, Simply Asia, and Thai Kitchen. Come join our dynamic Packaging Innovation team, where the fusion of creativity, problem-solving, and technical expertise is redefining the packaging landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop strategic plans relative to brand stewardship, sustainability, and the innovation pipeline for the Convenient Meals category
Packaging lead for multi-functional projects that are large in scope and high complexity, with accountability to deliverables and milestones
Collaborate across all levels of management, working seamlessly across functions, participating in project planning, aligning with stakeholder priorities, and offering technical guidance
Develop and enforce established standards and processes
Mentors and/or formally manages other professionals
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Package Engineering or a related technical field
11 years of experience in packaging development and project management, with a track record of collaborating with cross-functional project teams to design and execute projects
Extensive background in the consumer products industry and familiarity with plant operations
Proven ability to exercise sound judgement in high-pressure, sensitive situations, displaying professionalism in conflict resolution
Strong decision—making skills, self-confidence, and effective communication abilities, demonstrating the aptitude for exchanging information in a concise and logical manner
Leadership skills, including the capability to provide technical guidance and potentially oversee the work of junior Developers. Self-management of workload, demonstrating the ability to make decisions independently
Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and C.A.P.E. palletization software
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree, MBA, or equivalent relevant qualifications are highly preferred
Extensive and demonstratable experience in the food industry
Proficiency in ideation processes, consumer learning tools, and technology analysis
Experience and expertise in designing for sustainability, with knowledge of alternative distribution channels such as Club Stores and e-commerce
Prior leadership experience, including mentoring or direct supervisory roles, is advantageous
