  • Repair malfunctioning equipment units and broken structures.
  • Interpreting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
  • Read production blueprints/drawings to understand OEM specs.
  • Install machinery systems.
  • Perform electrical systems maintenance.
  • Install and maintain ventilation and refrigeration units.
  • Inspect alarm systems.
  • Maintain plumbing systems.
  • Quality check equipment regularly to ensure everything is in working order.
  • Perform peer-to-peer inspections on work performed by our other maintenance technicians.
  • Read blueprints and survey structures on the grounds.
  • Perform light landscaping and groundskeeping work as needed.
  • Advise purchasing manager during new equipment purchases.
  • Train employees on proper equipment usage
  • Assist in on-the-job training of newly hired maintenance technicians as well as preventative maintenance trainees.
  • Perform administrative computer tasks as needed.
  • Act as an on-call handyman when needed.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship under a professional maintenance technician is a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking and creative skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organizational.
  • Thorough working knowledge of facility equipment units, their usage, and safety procedures
  • Ability to manage time and responsibilities independently.
  • Must have a flexible schedule.
  • Monitor work requests, work scheduling, and work order completion rates and address outages as they arise.
  • Follow-up on work completed, evaluating the timeliness and accuracy of work to address issues as needed.
  • Regularly assess conditions and performance of the facility and develop plans to address any issues in cooperation with plant leadership.
  • Ensure constant regulatory compliance through action plans (OSHA, EPA, FDA, DNR, etc.).
  • Engage all employees in the maintenance process using the work request function (FIXX CMMS)
  • Help maintain a safe and healthy environment for all employees by adhering to all safety / regulatory procedures and by reporting and correcting unsafe conditions when observed.
