Job Summary: The primary purpose of this internship is to learn a limited scope of daily operations for a construction equipment and supply company. The position will move through various departments and/or branches within the organization for the purpose of gaining a strong understanding of the operation of the business.

Observe and learn the essential duties/responsibilities of the departments listed below

Duties will include, but not be limited to the following job assignments:

• Branch Operations/Customer Service:
  • Including duties of taking customer orders over the phone or at the retail sales counter.
  • Stocking shelves, picking and packing orders.
  • Travel to various branch locations for varying durations of time to fully understand the needs of each location and how to provide the best service and a complete understanding of Brach Operations.
  • Learn and understand the process of obtaining information for customers and company associates.
  • Visit job sites of customers to understand the inner workings of a job site. Review and understand company's pricing structures and processes related to all products and services.

• Inventory/Warehouse/Delivery:
  • Primary product focus includes all of the Company’s equipment, tools and supplies.
  • Some product knowledge is expected to be gained from the individual within the position.
  • Be engaged in the performance of the department and potentially recognize the need for change or improvement.
  • Learn operational procedures; verify incoming product, keeping record of materials received and sold as outgoing merchandise.
  • Any other relevant special projects related to operations

Qualifications

Education/Experience: Working towards Bachelor's degree; analytical and interpretive skills; refined oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public; ability to problem solve and address a variety of concrete variables.

Physical Requirements: Frequent walking; regularly lift and or move up to 25-50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; frequently exposed to outside weather conditions; occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
