McCallion Staffing is Hiring a Traveling Machinery Technician (FT) Near Telford, PA

International packaging machinery company is looking to hire a Field Service Mechanical Technician. This position does involved traveling about 60% of the time. You will be required to check in at the Telford headquarters when you are not traveling. You will receive extensive training on the company’s machines. You must have previous experience with overnight travel, machinery repair or installation and some electrical experience. This is a fantastic company that is looking to expand in the Pennsylvania area. You will have an opportunity to advance with the company.

Responsibilities:

Provide customer site start-up and commissioning of equipment.
Provide training to customer personnel on the usage and maintenance of the equipment.
Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment.
Perform equipment assessments.
Coordinate with the factory to retrofit any parts or assemblies on site.
Troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues that may arise on the equipment.
Represent the company in meetings with customer installation team.

Requirements:

Must have 3 years’ experience with packaging equipment.
Strong understanding of mechanical components such as bearings, shafts, pulleys, gears, sprockets, chains, fasteners, springs, clutches, brakes and other components of linear & rotary motion.
Good command of parts mechanical drawings, geometric dimensioning & tolerances.
General knowledge and experience with sensors, switches, servomotors pneumatic components, AC/DC motors, contactors, solid state relays, heaters, safety switches, etc.
Knowledge and hands-on experience with PLC’s, servomotors & controllers.
Proficient PC skills and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Overnight travel is required.
Fluent in Spanish would be an asset.
Milling and Lathe work experience would be an asset.

Travel:

Must have clean criminal record for international travel.
Must be able to travel between 50-75% of the time.
Must have a valid passport and be able to travel to Canada and overseas without any restrictions.
Must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.

Education:

Associates Degree in Mechanics/Electronics or equivalent (such as military training) with 3-5 years’ experience in service-related role, or Diploma from a 3 year program in Electro/Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred or extensive practical experience.
Millwright certification / Tool & Die maker would be considered an asset.
