Mb Staffing Services is Hiring an Accountant Near Washington, DC

Mb Staffing Services, LLC is recruiting a dynamic Accountant to join the team of an innovative and award-winning firm in Washington, DC. The accountant will provide accounting support and work directly with the Controller and President. This position is both an operational accountant and a financial accountant with significant responsibilities in each area. The accountant must have education and/or equivalent work experience in General Ledger, Reconciliations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and related Tax Filings, experience in month, quarter and year end processes with the ability to prepare, analyze and verify accuracy of Financial Reports.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Facilitate and complete monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing procedures.
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliation, bank reconciliations and analysis as needed.
  • Prepare customized accounting reports, spreadsheets and financial statements.
  • Inspect and interact with various departments of the company and outside accounting agencies hired by the company to ensure that all financial matters are going as per regulations and planning.
  • Handle and complete special assignments and responsibilities and requested.
  • Service company accounting and support for project teams.
  • Process monthly billing and invoicing.
  • Serve as Project Accountant/Management and billing for selected project teams.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable with emphasis on maintaining healthy receivables.
  • Manage and professionally develop Accounting Clerk.
  • Follow up calls/communication to clients regarding past due accounts.
  • Respond timely to requests for information/reports from management as well as clients.
  • Ability to excel in a deadline-oriented setting while managing multiple complex projects.
  • Work with Executive Management on budgets and projections.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 4 years of direct experience
  • Experience in QuickBooks and ADP payroll systems.
  • Technically savvy, able to manage electronic timekeeping systems.
  • Exceptional Excel skills and proficient in MS Office Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Strong cognitive problem solver, critical thinking skills
  • Exercise good judgement, respect for colleagues and work with integrity.
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written), time management, and organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $76,158.00 - $82,809.00 per year
