Mazzella Companies is Hiring an Estimator Near Bartow, FL

Overview

Do you have current or previous estimation experience? Are you looking for stable work and an opportunity for growth? Would you like to have good hours, a safety focused environment and enjoy work? We have just the job you are looking for!

The estimator will be responsible for analyzing bid specifications, preparing customer and vendor quotes and review drawings/specs in the preparation of a comprehensive project specific bid. This job will be located at our Bartow, FL office.

Responsibilities

Job Duties

  • Respond to customer requests in “real time” for price quotations, order status, adjustments, and cancellations
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with customers and vendors in order to provide the best possible service
  • Prepare quotations and resolve queries by utilizing computer systems, vendors, or other required departments / divisions
  • Gather information from vendors to complete pricing for quotations, expediting, and any other queries
  • Provide project status and track order progress when required
  • Assist in expediting / communication with the team
  • Thoroughly review all bid documents (drawings, specs, etc) on all projects
  • Coordinate with engineering / foreman and other associated personnel to confirm projects times, specifications or other pertinent information
  • Assist in inventory and projects as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Education

A high school diploma or GED is required. A military background, a community college degree, or trade school accreditation works as well for this position.

An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university with a focus in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, or related discipline is encouraged. In the absence of a degree, directly related job experience serving in strategic account management and industrial sales role. Years of experience, and proven knowledge, may offset the degree requirement.

Experience & Skills

Required Skills

  • 3-5 Years of Estimator experience
  • Mechanically inclined / Background in steel a plus
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Experience in CRM system a plus
  • Proven overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office)
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
