As a Mechanical Engineer supporting the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) at Ft. Liberty, NC, you will play a crucial role in providing technical expertise and support to enhance the capabilities of special operations forces. This position requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a focus on designing, analyzing, and maintaining specialized equipment and systems used by USSOCOM.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Top Secret clearance required

Travel: 10-25%

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and modify specialized mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with USSOCOM requirements and specifications
  • Conduct engineering analyses, simulations, and feasibility studies to validate designs
  • Develop prototypes of mechanical systems and components for evaluation and testing
  • Conduct performance testing, troubleshoot issues, and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and functionality
  • Work closely with USSOCOM personnel, end-users, and other engineering disciplines to understand operational requirements and constraints
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and maintenance procedures
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to address field issues and implement corrective actions


  • Qualifications (Required):
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in designing and maintaining mechanical systems, preferably in a military or defense context.
  • Minimum of 12 years of direct related experience required

Preferred:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software for 3D modeling and simulation
  • Familiarity with military standards and specifications is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
