As the Controller at Maxima Apparel, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and supporting our accounting team, driving transformation in controls and accounting systems, and ensuring strict compliance with financial standards. You will be looked to drive transformation and efficiencies in controls and accounting systems. Working under the direction of the CFO and COO, you will oversee and support an accounting team to foster corporate responsibility and productivity.

What will you be doing?

• Provide dynamic leadership to oversee and support the accounting team, creating an environment of trust and productivity.

• Drive transformation and efficiencies in controls and accounting systems.

• Lead and scale accounting operations in a complex and high-growth environment, optimizing monthly close processes.

• Manage consolidations in a multiple legal entity environment and review monthly segmented management financials and consolidated financials in accordance with GAAP.

• Supervise full-cycle accounts payable, including reviewing and validating all disbursements.

• Implement consistent accounting / tax policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation.

• Establish, implement, manage, and monitor critical accounting and reporting policies, processes, and associated metrics.

What should you bring?

• Experience with consolidations in a multiple legal entity environment, including the review of monthly segmented management financials and consolidated financials in accordance with GAAP.
• CPA/EA certification is a must.
• Strong tax experience is required.A proven history of effectively leading and nurturing an accounting team through dynamic leadership that cultivates trust and enhances productivity.
• The ability to drive transformation and efficiencies in controls and accounting systems.
• Experience in leading and scaling international accounting operations in a complex and high-growth environment, with a proven track record in optimizing monthly close processes.
• Experience working in both private and publicly traded companies.
• International experience is strongly preferred.
• A commitment to regular in-office attendance Monday through Friday, while maintaining an executive demeanor to effectively support our team and operations.
