The Dental Assistant provides support to the dentist duringpatient care and completes the preparation of the room and dentaltools / equipment.

The Dental Assistant complete intake paperwork, update patientrecords, sterilize and organize dental tools, and assist during any dentalprocedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Prepares patient, sterilizes and disinfects instruments,sets up instrument trays, prepares materials, and assists dentist during dentalproceduresTakes and records medical and dental historiesExposes dental diagnostic x-raysMakes preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusalregistrations for mounting study castsAssists dentist in management of medical and dentalemergenciesInstructs patients in oral hygiene and plaque controlprogramsProvides postoperative instructions prescribed by dentistRecords treatment information in patient recordsSchedules appointments, prepare bills, and receives paymentfor dental services, completes insurance forms, and maintains clerical recordsmanually or using the computerOther duties as assignedMinimum Requirements : High School diploma or its equivalentCurrent License / Certificate within state of practiceOne year experience as Dental Assistant preferredComplies with all relevant professional standards ofpracticeParticipation and completion of Maxim's Competency programwhen applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirementsAbility to effectively elicit / provide information to and fromappropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills;
