As a retail sales associate, you will be making a difference in the lives of pets by delivering expectational customer service to our pet parent customers, acting as a steward of the store's environment, achieving positive business results and performing operational functions.
Here is what a day in the life of a pet retail associate would look like:
- Provide guests with an exceptional shopping experience.
- Share product knowledge and make nutritional suggestions based on the customers pet
- Perform front end duties such as handling the cash register, checking out customers, answering telephones and booking grooming appointments.
- Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system
- Handle cash and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy and security
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, including restocking shelves and arranging displays
- Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and industry trends to effectively answer customer questions
- Meet or exceed sales goals on a regular basis
Requirements:
- Previous experience in pet retail sales environment is preferred
- Knowledge of dog breeds and dog nutrition
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain a clean and organized sales floor
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple customers simultaneously
- Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members
