Your Impact:
As a Procurement Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in optimizing our product offerings and ensuring the smooth acquisition of goods. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Market Innovation: Identify new products that meet the evolving needs of our customer base and strengthen our market position.
  • Supplier Sourcing: Scout and establish relationships with suppliers for both new and existing product lines.
  • Negotiation Mastery: Negotiate key terms with suppliers, including pricing, quality, and delivery schedules, to align with our strategic goals.
  • Supplier Coordination: Act as a liaison between suppliers and project managers, ensuring all parties are synchronized on updates and specifics.
  • Procurement Execution: Generate purchase orders and communicate critical delivery details to internal teams.
  • Invoice Analysis: Scrutinize invoices to verify the accuracy of goods received, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Inventory Oversight: Monitor stock levels to facilitate timely purchasing and minimize surplus inventory.
  • Collaborative Procurement: Work closely with sales and operations to grasp detailed procurement needs and objectives.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Aid in the creation of compliance packets and inspect product labels to ensure adherence to standards.

What You Bring:

  • Education: A Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required. A Masters Degree is preferred
  • Experience: 5 plus years proven experience as a Procurement Specialist, ideally within the C-store market.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of market conditions and a strategic outlook on industry trends.
  • Negotiation Skills: Exceptional negotiation skills coupled with a strong ability to solve problems effectively.
  • Communication: Superior written and verbal communication abilities. Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building relationships.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet with vendors and suppliers.
  • Technological Proficiency: Experience with procurement software and advanced data analytics tools. This could include familiarity with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics and proficiency in using data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Risk Management: Ability to assess and mitigate risks associated with supply chain processes. This includes understanding market volatility and having contingency planning skills.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of relevant legal and FDA compliance issues.
  • Change Management: Experience in managing change within the procurement function, such as introducing new processes or technologies, could be valuable.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Experience with strategic sourcing methodologies to optimize cost savings and improve product quality.
  • Vendor Development: Skills in vendor management and development to build more robust, reliable, and collaborative supplier relationships.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills to handle complex procurement projects and cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost management in the context of procurement.
