Maverick Natural Resources is seeking a Senior Staff Revenue Accountant to join their team. Under the direction of the Revenue Accounting Supervisor, this individual will support revenue related work for assigned properties. 

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry of revenue for assigned properties
• Record revenue related transactions for monthly financials reporting and ensure revenue is recorded accurately and timely
• Prepare monthly revenue accruals
• Validate production data; verification of pricing
• Prepare revenue related journal entries
• Perform and maintain account reconciliations
• Adhere to established internal audit and SOX controls
• Work with Land Department to ensure accurate set-up of information of properties and related components
• Assist with revenue related audit inquiries
• Make recommendations for systems and process enhancements
• Continuously review and update process documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related discipline
• Minimum 6-10 years of revenue accounting experience
• Oil and gas revenue accounting experience
• Oil and gas upstream accounting preferred
• Strong analytical skills
• Accuracy, compliance with established procedures
• Enertia system experience is a plus
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
