Maverick Natural Resources is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Staff Production Engineer to join our Operations team. This individual provides engineering expertise to assigned assets in order to optimize production to generate maximum cash flow while maintaining all company safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • The job requires supervising service company representatives involved with various workovers, stimulation treatments, and recompletions
  • The Production Engineer also manages contractors and helps direct field operations staff in the execution of artificial lift projects as well as making technical and financial decisions
  • Evaluate and making decisions on optimization of artificial lift and change out of equipment
  • Accountable for knowledge and compliance with all applicable regulations and company HES training requirements and policies
  • Identifying incremental capital/expense workover opportunities, preparing AFE’s, and providing economic analysis and justification for proposed projects
  • Display an understanding of formation damage, identification and remediation
  • History of performing job post audits to monitor capital spending efficiency

Qualifications

  • Petroleum Engineering degree preferred; also consider degree in Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering with exposure to oil and gas production operations.
  • 10 years’ operations/production/ drilling experience (oil and gas production) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in artificial lift design and application, well completion and remedial well work and related field experience including some drilling experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge in at least one technical discipline (production, petroleum, drilling) with a working knowledge of facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience working in onshore operations, with some exposure to urban operations a plus.
  • Demonstrate ability to mentor and develop entry level engineers
  • Demonstrated experience working with key vendors and contractors.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and preferably leading cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing materials and supporting information for wellwork and related filings with regulatory agencies
  • Demonstrated ability to use data analytics to make best decisions, reduce uncertainty, and process improvements
