Maverick Logistics Services, LLC is Hiring a Dispatcher (Nights) Near Breckenridge, TX

POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY:

Dispatcher reports to Director of Logistics and assists with the effective management and coordination of drivers and vehicles. This includes developing delivery routes and establishing contact with drivers throughout the day. The Dispatcher will be responsible for using the latest in routing software to establish daily trucking routes that make required stops outlined in the customer contracts. Dispatcher will need to be able to adjust to last minute changes and work with drivers to schedule pick-up or delivery when necessary, while monitoring any sudden route changes or road construction issues and work with drivers to establish new routes for timely deliveries. Dispatchers are the point of contact that a driver can rely on.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Schedule and dispatch drivers, trucks and other service vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer request, specifications, or needs, using direct personal contact, radios or telephones.
  • Part of the dispatcher's job is to coordinate and manage the most efficient loads. The dispatcher will need to determine the best delivery methods, while identifying and evaluating any special need for each load.
  • Follow-up with the arrangement for necessary repairs in order to restore service and operation schedules.
  • Ensure that every ticket or form conforms with the clients order specifications and delivery schedules.
  • Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from operation crews, supervisors, and field inspectors necessary to achieve successful execution of job orders.
  • Prepare daily work and run schedules while also drawing up weekly projections for work schedule and truck deployment in line with pending or potential job or delivery orders.
  • Receive or prepare work orders.
  • Oversee all communications within specifically assigned territories.
  • Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedules.
  • Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, work or services performed and other dispatch information.
  • Determine types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required according to work orders or specifications.
  • Advise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards that may have bearing on quality and timeliness of job deliveries.
  • Monitoring of drivers in relation to both their remaining hours of service and equipment as to its
  • availability.
  • Periodical route surveillance towards making recommendation or advising changes when necessary to ensure sustainable quality delivery operations.
  • Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness.
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position currently has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must be able to work a flexible schedule with a 3 day weekend every other weekend.

  • Experience in customer support
  • Understanding of process flow and ability to recommend improvements.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with creative problem solving skills and excellent follow through.
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly and to multi task.
  • Must be able to travel regionally as required.

COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Must possess moderate level skills in the use of personal computers, logistics software, Microsoft Office Suite software, including Excel, Word and email and the Google Office Suite, including Drive and email.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must speak Spanish fluently. Must have ability to read and comprehend a basic level of instructions, create correspondence and emails to both supervisors and coworkers. Must possess ability to present information one-on- one to customers, management and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must have ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must have ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
